Surfing Lessons

I think surfing may be depicting how we live… When life seems to be little harsh on you and that you are feeling low and sad – dive into ocean and you often will feel just how powerful the nature is and just how tiny the power human nature have over it
Of course there are a lot more positive thoughts and reasons to be in the ocean. Whether be it because you know you’ll have fun, feels good, or you may just love the ocean. Enjoy this with friends and you will enhance your joy
Great with good waves, but even if not, you will feel refreshed after the dip.
The lessons here will first focus on having fun surfing, followed by lessons to enable surfing on your own. But not to worry – all be customized to meet your needs.

Nomuyuki Hamano

Professional Rider

Riding on BB(body board) in middle school years was when he first met the waves.
Influenced by Hulk, he moved onto surfing.
Despite 5 years experience riding long board, he is already showing results at competitions. He is looking to expand the range of boards he rides, including short boards, to broaden his-self.

THE local surfer from Kugenuma. Started surfing when young, influenced by father, who is a famous local surfer.
Didn’t last long though as he wasn’t having fun. Things changed in high school years when he couldn’t join soccer team that was so popular then. He turned to the sea with the energy unused – and met short board which he is in love with till today.
He is looking to be #1 at the most populated Kugenuma point.

A father and an elementary teacher wants to pass on to the children of the future, the joy being with the nature which surfing has taught him – and what he has learned from Share Surf Room – the joy and importance of working with people. He is surfing with passion.

Working as a busy salesperson at an advertising agency, he is surfing between work and golfing.
“Surfing makes one more humble” – the thought which motivates him to practice as he also believes in need to surf more to be better than the Kugenuma locals, living in Yokosuka. Strong mental and his competitiveness coming from his soccer years are the drivers for keeping him in the ocean.
He loves the time, chilling out at share surf room after surfing – though it only takes 2 cans of beers to get him little tipsy.

Advisor / Guide

Met Arata and started surfing during the college life guard years.
With the start of revival of the long boards in 1990s, they’ve travelled to California, worked to become professional surfers. But decided to work at a hospital in Fujisawa.
Not being able to forget the Californian lifestyle he saw with Arata, he was determined to create the same in Japan – and established BEACHTOWN ( www.beachtown.co.jp ).
He is now living a life of travels from east to west, on his VAN, producing regional based clubs, maximizing vast natural resources that are available in the region.
Lives in Tateyama – currently positions in share surf room as an advisor.
